Dutch Meatloaf Recipe


Dutch Meatloaf
Given to me by Ruth "Tiny" Ruby

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs Lean Hamburger
1 c. bread crumbs
1 egg
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
4 oz tomato sauce

Sauce:

4 oz tomato sauce
3/4 c water
2 TBL brown sugar
2 TBL vinegar
2 TBL spicy mustard

Directions:

Mix hamburger, bread crumbs, egg, onion, salt, pepper, and 4 oz of tomato sauce.  Place in large loaf pan.  In a separate bowl, mix 4 oz tomato sauce, water, brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard.  Cover loaf with sauce mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours, basting loaf occasionally.

Crock Modifications:

Cook for 6-8 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high.  I used a 6 quart crock pot.
